It was quite nifty. Maybe you and your sons could put your new tools to use and make your daughter a kitchen! :) You can use caps from water bottles for nobs (put a screw through them) use a steel bowl for a sink, and paint on the rest. :)

Btw, I also came from QF digest. :) I saw you mentioned Voddie, and we actually go to his church here in Texas. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14259605619391239854noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35891418.post-41307072533354234952008-12-03T13:33:00.000-06:002008-12-03T13:33:00.000-06:00Yes, I think so. I hope you can find a simple playset for your daughter!OurLilFullFamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17651635309150678309noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35891418.post-69227688653572349132008-12-03T10:17:00.000-06:002008-12-03T10:17:00.000-06:00Thanks for the tip about the government school sys...Thanks for the tip about the government school system and their surplus. We'll have to check that out.

They are probably too busy teaching kindergarteners sex education and political correctness for them to have time to let them play with such "traditional role playing" toys.

Blessings,
MikeMike Southerlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01484261082836981943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35891418.post-8256638722195987612008-12-03T10:00:00.000-06:002008-12-03T10:00:00.000-06:00Mike, I came here through the Qf list. We have started to like thanksgiving better ourselves, because of the consumerism of christmas. We have been talking about this ourselves, doing blessing baskets for our kids.

About the playset. We got our daughter one from a public school surplus sale. Apparantly, they don't use them anymore. It was very sturdy wood, we got a stove, fridge, and sink. I sanded and painted them. I will try to post some pictures on my blog today so you can see. It would be a great project for the kids!

I do have pictures of our craft room with a old slate science table from the same sale that we turned into an ironing and cutting table for sewing.

And, my husband would have done the same thing over here. I don't know what those toy makers are thinking sometimes.OurLilFullFamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17651635309150678309noreply@blogger.com
